Freedom!
It is so weird being pretty much done with teaching. True, I have a pile of student scripts to read and Friday I have to consult on some student films but during the school year literally every moment from 7 to 11 or 12 is taken up with something that I have to do so now, this bit of freedom feels like heaven.
As I blogged on BABBLE.COM, i took my girlfriend and our blending families to the Bronx Zoo. This weekend we're all going to Philadelphia. I'm on a panel at the book fair down there. I'm still working to get the word out on the book up to father's day. After that I'm done. It is what it is.
I'm also starting in on new projects which is always scary and exciting. There is a film that I am dying to write, an adaptation of another book. And there is my interracial beatnik love story that has been deviling me for years. I intend to crack it back open and fix it this summer.
Other than that my summer plans are so much in the air. I need to figure out something quick. I remember August here in the city was a soupy mess.

I found this book in the parenting section in Barne and Noble. It has hardley nothing to do with parenting. Its more about taking trips to different countries and meeting exotic women. How I percieved it was that your wife had the children in the evenings and the nanny had them the rest of the time.

Nothing wrong with free time. How about camping? Our blending family is planning a getaway to the Delaware later this summer. Camping and rafting, and probably a bit of fishing. Sounds cliche, but, hey, nice way to blend.
