A Nice Place to Visit

It was 90 degrees here in LA today and I was frying on the beach. I so needed the sun and riding around in my rental PT Cruiser convertible I made up for three months of gray Manhattan weather in a weekend. It's been wonderful seeing old friends and I was invited to a terrific book party at Arianna Huffington's house for her friend Kathy Freston. I don't get out much so to be here on vacation with neither kids nor a curfew and hobnobbing in a mansion on a hot summery day was not bad at all.

Tomorrow I have an NPR interview and then a half-hour later Dr. Drew. Later that evening I'm meeting up with old friends at Versailles, my favorite Cuban restaurant in LA and then I catch the redeye. My plan is to get home, take a nap and then rush to school for office hours and then I teach from 2-5 and pick up the kiddies.

I miss them of course but this little break was long overdo.

Wishing you a safe trip back home, Trey! Yay for a fun break for you! I know you'll be happy to see Ava and Chet again and I'll be happy to listen to your NPR interview and your chat with Dr.Drew. Love your posts and pics on Babble! Dads Rule!

hey Trey...
nice job on the Post-Divorce Dating Adventures piece. i hear ya !

figured I'd post a comment on your blog after reading your bio. I loved the recent article I read on MSN today "Post-Divorce Dating Adventures". Single parenthood, while more the norm that not, doesn't stop it from being incredibly demanding; as a single parent your article made me smile looking at this from the other side of the fence... Hope you continue to have success.

hey trey

i read your story about 'the marrying kind' and found it refreshing. actually i thought you were an old white guy - shock number one...i am glad you are the marrying kind, seems like people are not quite suited all over the world. over her in the bahamas, most of the GUYS are not 'the marrying kind' and they show that in their inability to commit to one woman. i hope things work out well for you.
