Happy Day

I'm thrilled that Salon just ran a long excerpt of the book today. It is a little odd, however, that we chose perhaps the single-embarrassing moment of my life. I love the book because it is the sum of me. It's not just a cute, touching story of an overburdened dad. I really did my best to include the less-flattering manifestations of loneliness and courting. All wrapped in humor and, I hope, a fundamentally enthusiastic spirit.

Also, if you'd like to hear another example of what my life is like with my kids, click HERE for one of my NPR "All Things Considered" commentaries.

And did I mention that Valentine's Day is coming up and Bedtime Stories would make a great gift!

This is one of the funniest excerpts I've read in a long time. I going on Amazon to get it now!

Good luck!

I just read a portion of your book from the link you had on your blog. All I have to say is EXCELLENT! I am now going to beg my husband to let me buy the book, so I can have a good read, something I haven't had in a long time since become a mother.

Ah...it was this very NPR clip that encouraged me to buy one of your books. Can't wait to read the new one.

I found you through the Salon piece --which, by the way, had very funny and very sad moments. Best of luck on the book! I'll drop by from time to time to get updates from your blog.

Hi, Trey: I just saw an excerpt from your book over at Salon, and when I read it, I felt for you. I am a single parent too and well, you just beat me to that single parenthood book. I've been writing one over the last two years but stopped because, well, there were many other things to think about. Anyhow, am not sure if your book is already in our local bookstores (am in Manila, Philippines), but if it's not, we'll see if it will take ages for Amazon to ship here.
From a single mommy to you, well, best of luck (but congratulations if you're not as lonely now). I think am gonna enjoy the book. I'll blog about it once I get my hands on it.
P.S. But OMG, I wish I was that honest. Way to go! I love the excerpt. I'm sure the book will be so much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the link to Salon. Read your excerpt from your new book and loved it! I've got to get it now and read the rest! I know its sad, but I find joy in someone else having bad luck with the dating experience! (Sorry Trey)
